Dr. Thomas Barrett is a mixed computational and experimental Materials Scientist from Boston, MA, USA. He completed his PhD titled “Towards the multiscale modeling of blended polymer nanocomposite films and fibers” with the late Dr. Marilyn Minus at Northeastern University, his MS with Dr. Sinan Müftü at Northeastern, and received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester.

At CAU, he is a visiting scientist for Project B12 of CRC 1261 with the Chair for Bioinspired Materials and Biosensor Technologies led by Prof. Dr. Zeynep Altintas, where he is applying computational chemistry and machine learning principles towards the in silico polymerization and recipe development of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers.
